Weigh In and Weekend Review

Weigh In:

I have lost 1.2 lbs since last weeks weigh in. I did much better with my points through out the week but this weekend was still pretty difficult. Also, I only worked out one day this week and even then it was nothing like what I had been doing. Still, its a loss and I'm happy about that. This week my goal is add some of my walking back in.

Weekend Review:

Football season has finally started!! Friday night Hubs and I both worked the high school football game. Hubs is the spotter for the team and I worked the gate selling tickets. The game was delayed for an hour due to rain and lighting so it was really late by the time we got home. My brother and his wife stayed with us since we had our yard sale Saturday morning. We did pretty well with the yard sale. We got rid of a lot of stuff and made a little money. Since we were so tired after the yard sale we took a nap (which I never do). Saturday night we went to eat fish with my parents and then back to their house to watch Last House on the Left. I had heard lots of good things about this movie and even though I am not a big horror movie fan it was pretty good. Sunday we went to church and lunch and then spent the rest of the day relaxing and watching movies. We watched 17 Again last night and it was really cute. I have a small crush on Zac Afron.

Must Have Beauty Products

I love makeup but hate putting it on. My morning makeup regime takes all of 3 minutes to complete. I have used most of the same products since I first started wearing makeup many moons ago. Once I find something that I love, I tend to stick with it. Here are some of my favorite products that I could not be beautiful without...

I only wear lipstick when it is absolutly nessecary. In fact one of my bridesmaids joked that she was going to have to hide my chapstick from me on my wedding day just so I would have to wear lipstick. I will wear it more in the fall and winter seasons. Something about dark lipstick while its warm outside bothers me. But I do love lipgloss. Very little color but lots of shine. My favorite is Victoria Secret's Beauty Rush in a soft shiny shade. Its super thick and stays on. Plus it tastes really good.

For blush I use Flirt which is carried at Kohls' (my all time favorite store). It's inexpensive and great quality. They have tons of shades to choose from. I use a bronze shade.

I hate the feel of foundation on my face. I can't stand to actually feel like I am wearing makeup. That's why I have used Clinque's City Base in Honey Milk for years. Its so light and somes in this great compact for easy travel. I use it in the morning and then toss it in my purse if I know its going to be a long day. And even re-applying later doesn't make it feel heavy or gunky.

I could NOT live without this product. Covergirl's trio-eyeshadow in Shimmering Sands. My best friend and I have worn this since high school. We both still wear it on a daily basis. It is so flattering. Shiny but not dark. I seriously need to stock up incase they ever quit selling it.

I never had acne as a teenager but once I went to college I started to break out some. I do have some acne scars that you can only see when your close up but when my best friend and sister-in-law raved about Murad face care I knew that I needed to try it; and boy were they right. This stuff is wonderful. I use the post-acne care kit which has gretaly reduced the scars and blemishs on my face. It is more expensive but has been worth every penny. I order mine from a store on Ebay.

This is not a daily beauty product but I so swear by it. Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails polish. I have thin nails and since I am so active (between coaching and teaching), I worry about them
breaking. I have just recently let them get long and this stuff has really helped. I always keep at least 2 coats on my nails and just paint over it with whatever color I want.

New Favorite Thing and Anniversay

Today is my one year blogging anniversary! I have loved sharing my life with ya'll. I plan on hosting a giveaway soon in honor of my 1 year anniversary so make sure to check back.

This is seriously the best thing ever invented. The brush is wider than a normal brush which means I only needed one swipe for each finger. Honestly, the brush fit my nail perfectly. Even better is the fact that it dried in less than a minute. I always end up messing my nail polish up because I can't sit still long enough for it to dry completely. The price is great too at $3.50. I bought it in Sonic Bloom which is a bright coral color. I plan on stocking up on every color.

Question and Recap

I'll start with the question first: Has anyone ever had a Endometrial Function Test (EFT) done? I have one scheduled for Friday and am kind of worried about it. The nurse said that it was excoriating painful but only lasts a few minutes. Not exactly something to calm the nerves.

So today was the first day back to school for students. The entire day went great. I didn't start with instruction but instead went over rules and procedures and then did some fun "get-to-know-you" activities. I love my students and am excited for another great school year. The only problem with today was the wedge heels that I wore. They killed my feet! Definitely wearing flats tomorrow.

Back to School, Back to School...

Today is the first day back to school for students. I spent all day yesterday putting the finishing touches on my classroom and getting the students folders ready for their first day. I love the beginning of a new year and brand new start!

Weigh In and Weekend Review

Monday Morning Weigh In:
Since I didn't share my weight last week I am not sure what the difference in this week and then is. So I will just tell you that this morning I weighed 180.6 lbs. That is right at 3 lbs higher then my lowest point this summer and around 1 lb higher than I was when school let out back in June. Not too bad but I certainly didn't obtain my goal of losing 10 lbs over the summer. Today is our last teacher workday which means our last day to eat out for lunch. We are grilling out at my parents tonight so I plan on eating what I want today and then get back on schedule tomorrow. My first goal is to lose between 10 and 15 lbs before Halloween.

Weekend Review:

This weekend we had planned to out of town to visit my in-laws. We always leave our smallest dog with my parents when were not at home. So I dropped Boone off at my parents before going to work. While we were at lunch on Friday my dad got a call on his cell phone and I could tell that something was wrong. It was my mom calling him to tell him that my cousin's husband (they live down the hill from my parents) had hit Boone with his truck. They finally found Boone underneath the back deck and brought him to the vet where dad and I met them. He was very lucky and walked away with no injuries besides being a little sore and bruised.

Friday night, once we got to my in-laws, we went out to dinner at Hubs favorite restaurant. Saturday we went to breakfast and then did some shopping. Hubs got some great deals at Belk's. Saturday night we met my brother-in-law and his best friend and wife at Hooters. After that we headed to this hole in the wall biker bar. It ended up being a wild night with me being the designated driver (which I do not mind). Sunday we didn't make it to church (hence the late night before) but did meet up for some delicious Mexican lunch before coming home. Sunday evening was spent reading (Plain Truth is such great book!) and watching Lifetime Movies on TV.

He looks like he's sniffing me but he was actually trying to kiss me.
I was too busy smiling for the camera.

Ah, this ones better. On our way to dinner Sat. night.

Fall Fun

Now that school has started back it signals the end of summer for me. Which is fine because Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year. I love everything about it.
Pumpkins could seriously be one of my favorite things in the world. I love the color, the smell, the taste, everything about them. I love to ride by and see pumpkin patches. I have a pumpkin candle for my classroom candle warmer already. I love Panara's pumpkin muffins and pumpkin spiced coffees. I have no less than 4 pumpkins on my front porch or in my yard from the months of September through the end of November.

Football, Football, Football. Every Sat. from the end of August through December or January (playoffs and Bowl games) are taken up by football. Friday nights are spent at the high schools games and Saturdays are either at our Alma Mater's or the University of South Carolina, and Sundays are reserved for the Carolina Panthers.
Scarecrows, mums, pumpkins (again) and hay. This is the fall scene in my front yard last year. I have not thought about what to do this year. Hubs fussed caused it killed the grass there but wasn't it cute?

One of my favorite things about the fall is the local county fair. I love everything about it. The smells, the rides, the food, and games. Hubs and I go with friends every year and have such a good time. I can't wait until this year. I think that we may also be going to the South Carolina state fair. I have been to SC's before and Hubs has been to NC's but we have never been to a state fair together.
There are so many other things that I love about Fall including: sweaters, jeans, the cooler weather, my birthday, Halloween, Thanksgiving, craft shows, and great TV shows.
Which season is your favorite? What are some things that you love about fall?

Back to Work

(I have no idea whose pool this is. It was taken from Google Images)
Goodbye days spent by the pool or shopping. Goodbye long lunches with friends. Summer vacation has officially ended. Today was my last day of freedom. Tomorrow I must return to work with a teacher workday starting at 7:30am. Do you know how long it has been since I have seen 7:30am? I am actually pretty excited for a new school year. I love my job and my students and while I do enjoy the summer break I also love the beginning of the year. Tomorrow will be full of meetings which are no fun. Hopefully I will get some time to work in my classroom.

I'm On A Boat

Here are the promised lake pictures from this past weekend. A day on the lake was the perfect way to end my summer vacation. My face looks like a tomato and my bra straps are killing my shoulders but it was all worth it.

I took a picture of Hubs while he was eating his sandwhich.

Us on the jet ski.

Off we go. This was our first ride. The second time I tipped us over by leaning to the right. Hubs was not happy.

Hubs by himself; and no he didn't lose me. I was safely on the boat.

Can life get any better?

Jeff and Kirsten

Love this man.

Driving the boat.

Her flat stomach makes me sick but I still love her.

Weigh In and Weekend Review

Monday Morning Weigh In
I got up early this morning, trying to get back on a schedule for work and totally forgot about weighing in before I jumped in the shower. I did weigh after I got out and it was not pretty. I am hoping that it was because my hair was wet but I really don't think that my wet hair weighs that much. So I have decided to toss this weeks weigh in out. I am just not going to count it. Fair enough? I'll just leave you with this... it was BAD. I cannot wait for school to start back so that I can get on a schedule. Now I am just going to have to figure out a workout schedule when I go back to work.

Weekend Review

This weekend was jam packed with lots of fun times. Friday night we went back to the dirt track. This time to watch my cousin race. Lots of our family was there and we all had a really good time. We didn't sit in the curve like we did last week so we didn't have nearly as much dirt on us.

My cousin's car.

Jeff, my brother,at the race track.

Hubs and I at the races. With Jeff peaking in.

Kirs and I. We never actually plan to dress alike; it just ends up that way.

The 3 most important men in my life; Hubs, my daddy and my lil brother.

Kirs with Andrew's race car.

Kirs and I posing with the driver; my cousin Andrew.

Saturday we went to Kirsten's uncle's lake house and took out the pontoon boat and jet ski. The weather was perfect and we had a wonderful time. I got burnt but it was so worth it. We spent all day out on the water and then stopped by Sam's Club and Chili's on the way home.

Sunday we missed church (we were so tired from the lake). My brother-in-law brought our niece and nephew down to visit us and we spent the day at my parents house swimming and hanging out with them. Sunday night Hubs and I got pizza and watched Lifetime movies. It was such a great way to end a busy weekend.

*I will share pictures from the lake & pool later this week. I didn't want this post to be too long*

Guilty

Yesterday we spent all day at the Lake and on the way home we decided to stop at Chili's at eat dinner. We were starving.
We got the 2 for $20 and started our meal off with these...

Then we both got Mushroom-Swiss Burgers and fries...
And then we finished with a piece of Heaven on Earth... the chocolate chip molten lava cake. Delicious!

I'm sure I've gained 10 pounds just looking at these pictures.
Dreading Weigh In tomorrow. UGH!

Favorite Vacation Spot

This week in Show Us your Life is Favorite Vacation Spot. Since I have more than one I am going to share our favorite three:

Every summer for as long as I can remember my family has been going to Ocean Lakes Campground in Myrtle Beach, SC. When I was little we had a camper but for the past 20 or so years we have been staying in houses at this campground. If you never heard of Ocean Lakes; it is huge. There is so much to do that you never even have to leave the campground. Hubs and I love it and can't wait to share this place with our children.

Hubs parent's also have a place at North Myrtle Beach so we stay there a lot to. We usually go the week of Christmas with them and also spend some time in the summer at their place. It is such a beautiful place and we spending time with them there.

Another place that we love to go to is Pigeon Forge, TN. We usually go here at least 3 times a year. We love to go in the fall and see all the decorations. Twice a year they have a huge craft show that we go to. We are actually going in September with my family and staying in a cabin.

My all-time favorite vacation spot is Disney World. I love everything Disney! These are pictures from when we went 2 Christmas's ago. I am trying to talk Hubs into going this Christmas.

Randomness

I will apologize before hand for the randomness of this post. I just had lots to share and no better way to organize it.

School starts back for teachers next Wed. so I have been working in my classroom trying to get it ready for the students. Although we have a week to work before the kids come back we have freshman orientation next Thursday so they want our rooms to be ready by then. I am only getting four 9th graders this year compared to the nine that I got last year. So that is a lot better but when I only graduated two seniors this past year it still means that my numbers are going up. Soon I will be posting some before and after pictures of my classroom.

Next order of business: these are the super cute flats that I got at Target for $10. They have black, bronze, zebra print, and these leopard print ones. I love leopard print and these are really comfortable.

If you pay any attention to my currently reading sidebar then you know that I was reading The Shack. I have heard lots of great things about this book but I just couldn't make it through it. The writing was hard for me to read and digest and I made it halfway through and it just seemed like it was taking me forever. Two ladies that work in our office both said the same thing but that it was worth it in the end. I had borrowed it from the library though and it was due yesterday so I went ahead and turned it back in and will try to pick it back up later. If anyone else has read it I would love to hear your opinions on it.
Now I am reading Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult. Once I read My Sister's Keeper I have tried to pick up any book of hers that I can get my hands on. So far I have read Nineteen Minutes (very good) and The Tenth Circle (also very good). I tried to read Picture Perfect and Second Glance and couldn't get through them. They were two of her older books and her writing was a little different. I love to talk about books so please share with me if you have any suggestions for reading material.
See this girl with me in this picture. She is my best friend in the world. She is also one of the nicest and most caring people that you could ever have the pleasure of knowing. And She's Pregnant! She doesn't have a blog but I know that she reads mine and since none of you know her then she won't mind me sharing her good news. She was so worried and upset about telling me because she thought I would be upset. While I am jealous that she got pregnant the first month of BCP (yes, obviously it is that easy for some people) I could not be more excited and happy for her. She and her husband will make wonderful parents! She has been there for me throughout everything that I have been through with infertility and I know that she will continue to be. Just as I will be there for her in all the joys of this pregnancy. BTW, I plan on spoiling this baby like crazy.

And finally, I got a new hair color. I am now blonde... or a lot lighter than it was. I love it! What do you think? I have always changed my hair color a lot and usually the length but now that it is getting longer I love it. My hair is naturally curly and while I used to think it was a curse I now know what a blessing it is. It takes me zero time to fix it and if I get stuck in the rain it dries back and looks exactly the same. What straight-haired gal can say that?
