Does it get any sweeter....

South Carolina Gamecocks
Win National Championship

By now most of you know that I am a HUGE sports fan. I love all sports (well except for tennis and soccer; and I might even like soccer if it wasn't for all those darn horns). My favorite sport is football but baseball is a very close second. Above being just a fan of sports; I am a die hard SC Gamecock fan. And believe me when I say that is not always easy. My parents have had season tickets for Gamecock football for 30 years. I remember going to games when I was very young with my dad and wearing a SC cheerleading outfit. My younger brother cries when the fight song plays and was introduced at his wedding with 2001 Space Odyssey playing (for all you non-Gamecock fans that is their entrance song for football games). I have screamed Go Cocks more times then is appropriate for a proper lady. So you can imagine our excitement when SC made it to the college world series. My parents packed up and headed to Omaha. A vacation planned for the end of this week brought them home early so they weren't able to be at the last Clemson game and the 2 games against UCLA. We watched them all on tv though. It looked like it was going to be 2 and home after a 1st round loss. Obviously it wasn't though. So for one last time (or at least until football starts)... GO COCKS!!!!!

GO COCKS!!!!

Tonight my Gamecocks will play in the first game of the College Baseball World Series Championship series against UCLA. The only victory that would be sweeter then sending rivals Clemson home this weekend would be winning it all. I will be glued to the TV tonight at 7:30.
Let's Go Cocks!

What the @*%$...

Yes, this picture is real and I took it with my own camera last Saturday in the NC mountains.
I'm not sure there is anything else to say about it? Kind of speaks for itself.

Lovin the Life at the Lake

Sunday we spent the day at the lake with my brother and sister-in-law. Now, don't go thinking that we're bad children and didn't even spend Father's Day with our dad. My parents have been in Omaha, Nebraska for the past week. They are there to cheer on our Gamecocks in the College Baseball World Series. We beat Arizona State yesterday and my dad was on TV. We dvr'd it and watched it last night to find him and there he was.

Jeff and I. And yes, that mustache is real and it only gets worse.

We love days on the lake!

Kirs after too much wine.

I love my sister-in-law.

Jeff wakeboarding.

The mustache makes me laugh. He had a beard and everything but decided to shave it all off since it is so hot. Well when he started he decided to leave the mustache and show everyone.

Close up of how ridiculous it looks. And it's scary how much he looks like my dad with it.

Weekend Review and Weekly Weigh In

Weekend Review:

Friday night I went out with some women that I teach with. We went to dinner at this delicious pub and then to Alive at Five in Downtown Belmont. The beach band, The Embers, were playing and it was a lot of fun.

Some of the crowd.

A few of the women from work.
Saturday morning we got up early and decided to drive the hour and 20 minutes up the mountain to our college town. We had a wonderful time walking around campus and looking at everything that has changed since we both graduated 6 years ago.

We had lunch at our favorite hangout; a Greek bar that has the best Greek fries and Chicken Parmesan subs. After lunch we went around the mountain to stay with Hub's middle brother and our niece and nephew. We love getting to see them.

I love how good Hub's is with Eli.
We got up Sunday morning and I told Hubs I wanted some pancakes from McDonald's. I never want breakfast out but for some reason I was craving them. So we go to McDonald's right up the road and of course they don't have any pancakes. I guess because they are up in the mountains maybe their supply isn't the same but still I was ill. After breakfast we went ahead and packed up and said goodbye so we could get home in time to meet my brother and sister-in-law and spend the day on the lake.
Weekly Weigh In:
I have started weighing in on Tuesday mornings and it seems to be working out a lot better then my Monday morning weigh ins. This morning I weighed in at 173.2 which is my lowest since college!!! I am so excited. My goal was to lose 10 lbs in the month of June so I only have 3.2 lbs left to lose in 8 days. I know that is a stretch but I am going to try really hard. Now I have to get off here so I can go to the gym. :)

Friday in Love and Favorite Friday

Yay! Its finally Friday and just so happens to be my first Friday of summer vacation.

This Friday I am in love with...
Girls Night Out.
I am going out with a bunch of women that I teach with tonight. We're having dinner and then going to a Downtown Alive festival to see a band before heading to a local bar to watch another band. So excited!
The adorable new bathing suits that I bought this week.
One is navy blue with white stars for the 4th of July (each piece cost $5.00) and the second one is black and white zebra print with a hot pink border. I am also bought a new pair of solid black bikini bottoms because my other ones were waaaayyyy to big.
the weather here in the Carolina's
And because of this weather I am so glad that I have a membership to run in the air conditioning at this place

Also I am participating in...

This weeks Friday Five at Just Me and My Life is Favorite Songs. I love listening to music but I always update my i-touch so it seems I only listen to current music. Here are my five favorite songs right now...

1) Airplanes by BOB and Hayley Williams
2) Take your girl by Lil Wayne and Drake
3) Billionaire by Travie McCoy
4) Up on the ridge by Dierks Bentley
5) This Afternoon by Nickelback

Movies, Movies, Movies

Let me start off by saying that I am not a huge fan of movies. Hub's says that I am to ADD for them. I just can never seem to sit still long enough to understand what is going on. Several movies have recently came out (on DVD of course; I mean who wants to pay $12 for a movie ticket?) that I wanted to see so I rented them and have watched 2 movies in the past 2 days! That's a record for me I think.
Last night Hubs and I watched Leap Year. I went to the Redbox (greatest invention ever!!!) and tried to rent When In Rome but of course it wasn't in. While browsing I remembered seeing the previews for Leap Year so I decided to get it. Well, it turned out to be one of the cutest movies I have ever seen. I loved it and would recommend it to anyone. Some of the Irish accents were a little hard to understand but it has a really cute story. Overall rating A.
Today after my hair appt. I went to mom and dads and my sister in law was there. We were both talking about how we wanted to see When In Rome so we called my dad and he Redboxed (can this be a new verb?) it for us on his way home. I was really disappointed with it. While the movie was okay (it did have cutie Josh Duhamel in it) it just seemed overly cheesy most of the time. I would never watch it again. Overall grade C+.
So what do I have planned for tomorrow (my second official day of summer vacation)? I rented this movie....
and plan on watching it in the morning. It has really been too hot here to do anything outside during the day and since I got a little too toasted at the pool this weekend I think I will plan on spending the day in the AC.

How the years have flown...

This weekend was graduation and I was so sad to see my little cousin graudate from high school. When Hubs and I started dating Rachelle was only 9. And now she had graduated and will be starting college in the fall.

We are so proud of you Rachelle!

Enjoying some delicious bar-b-que.

This could possibly be the most unflattering angle ever. We love you Rachelle and wish you the best! We can't wait to come visit you at college!

Class of 2010

Congratulations Class of 2010!
I am so proud and excited for my students. I have four boys graduating this year and it
means more to me this year than ever since this is my first class. My first year of teaching was when these boys were freshmen. I could not be more proud of them. I am excited to see what they do with the rest of their lives and I hope that they will come back and see me.

Top 2 Tuesday: Books

Today's Top 2 Tuesday hosted by The Undomestic Momma is one of my favorite topics. I LOVE to read! I have always been a major bookworm.

There was no way that I could narrow it down to 2 books so I chose to highlight my 2 favorite authors instead.

I love anything by Nicholas Sparks. The Rescue and A Bend In the Road are two of my favorites by him. I also love Dear John, The Notebook, and The Lucky One.

I read My Sister's Keeper last summer when the movie came out and I loved the book but hated the movie. This book started my love affair with anything that Jodi Picoult writes. I can't wait to get my hands on her newest novel.

Weekend Review

Friday after school we had a pizza and pool party for the high school softball team I coach. I had to leave that early so that I could get home and shower in time for us to meet Jeff and Kirs at Hog Happenin (the motorcycle festival). We did a wine tasting and walked around looking at all the vendors. At 8pm we made our way to the adult beverage section so that we could listen to the band Charity Case. Their lead singer is a local morning show radio personality from Charlotte. We had such a good time!

Saturday morning I got up early to meet 2 of my co-workers at the Greenway to walk. We walked 4.5 miles and I was sweating like a pig. Afterwards I went to my parents so I could jump in the pool.

Saturday night we had the Inaugural Oldtimers Softball game (which I hosted to raise money for the high school softball team). The rules were that you had to play softball at our high school in the past. We had an amazing turnout and raised a $1,000. Plus, we had a ton of fun playing. I have a lot more pictures to share but I thought I would give you a sample.

This is me batting.
Sunday morning we skipped church and slept in late. My poor body needed extra rest from all the work it did on Saturday. Hubs had worked in the yard all day Saturday so he needed it too. Yesterday afternoon we had a birthday party for one of my cousins at my grandmas so we ate dinner there.
This week is our last week of school. In fact, today is our only full day this week. Friday is a workday and then I have two workdays next week and then its SUMMER VACATION!!!!
