Home of the Mountaineers

A few weekends ago Hubs and I went up the mountain to visit our old college town. We both graduated from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. Since it's only an hour and twenty minutes from our house we love to make a day trip out of it.

We ate lunch at our favorite college spot. Parthenon Cafe is a delicious little Greek restaurant and since it's right on the outside of campus it was super easy to walk to. This parking lot is packed at night because of great beer specials and yummy wings.

There are actually 3 restaurants/bars that are hooked together. Flipsides, Klondike Cafe, and Parthenon is on the end.

This is Hoey dorm. Both Hubs and I lived in this co-ed dorm our first year at ASU. We didn't meet there though since we is a year ahead of me in school.

this is Chapel-Wilson Hall. It was where all of my major classes were located. Needless to say I spent a lot of time in this building.

Going back and visiting always brings back so many wonderful memories of the simple days of college. Boone has changed so much but it still remains the perfect college town.
