Down Home Day

Don't you just love small town festivals? My hometown hosted their annual Down Home Day this past weekend. We didnt get to go Friday night because Hubs was gone out and I had a party but Hubwe decided to go Saturday since we had missed it the past couple of years. A lot of my students were there and Hubs got to meet a few that he hadn't met before. We got steak sandwiches for lunch and they were delicious then we rounded it out with a funnel cake. YUMMY!

My small hometown is very Southern. And redneck. For example we have the Confederate Sons of the South booth. (and children with green hair).

I wouldn't want to be anywhere else though. There was lots of food, cornhole tournaments, live music, and games and rides for children.

What kind of festivals does your town have? I would love to hear about them.

I love funnel cake! The town the hubs and I live in does a think called "Do Dah Daze" and it is for dog lovers and their dogs. They have food vendors and vendors who sell pet stuff and then they always have a bluegrass band. It is a lot of fun and cheesy for our small town.

I also live in a small town and wouldn't want to be anywhere else! We have a shrimp and beef festival. We also have a Thursday night event once a month from April-October with bands, food, and booths! It's pretty neat for a small town like mine!

As for southern, our town motto was "Tobacco is Gold in ___ ___"! ha
