Infertility Stinks Even More Today Than Yesterday

I'm sure that you can tell from the blog title that today's post does not contain promising words. Wednesday was a loooonnng day. It is a 3 hour drive each way and my appt took 2 hours and 15 minutes. The dr. was nice and very young. He is an expert on endometrosis. They did an ultrasound and it showed that I had large cysts in both ovaries that are more than likely balls of endometrosis (I had these removed during my last laproscopy). The dr. wants to do another laproscopy to remove any enometrosis that is there. I just had the same surgery done a year and half ago. My issues with having it done again is that it seems to be coming back so quickly. Most women with endometrosis complain of horrible and constant pain and very heavy cycles. I have neither. My cycles come ever 28 days and lasts less than 3 days. They aren't heavy and besides popping a few Advil's I don't have any pain. The only reason for doing the surgery again in my case is for fertility reasons. Hubs and I are planning on discussing it and deciding what we want to do. I really don't care to have the surgery again especially if the endometrosis is coming back so quickly. Just wanted to give you all an update though. Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.

I am SO sorry. That STINKS. I've had 2 laps for endometriosis, and they are not fun, especially knowing that they're really just buying you time before the next one. I said a prayer for you today as you discuss and decide what to do.

All I can say is I will continue to pray for you and Hubs! The best things come to those who wait....I know, nobody likes to wait. ;) Hang in there!

Because I don't deal with endometriosis as part of my infertility woes, I'm not sure if this even makes sense, but could you opt to do IVF if you decide you want to continue on the path of biological children?

Know you have many people saying prayers for discernment for you and Hubs.

I'm so sorry to hear that you are stuggling. I wish I could give you a big hug! I've had two laparoscopies and I know they are no fun. Hopefully it will help though and I wish you the best! God will never make you go through anything you can't handle. Please let me know if I can do anything for you.

When my mom was in her 30's she had MULTIPLE endometriosis surgeries and was told by one gyno that she should just go ahead and have hysterectomy because she would never be able to have another child. After years of not using any contraception at the age of 38 my mother had my sister by surprise(they totally did not want a 3rd kid, I was 13 and my brother was 10) because several doctors told her her endometriosis would prevent her from ever having children, so there is hope!

I'm so sorry Kelly! I prayed for you. I found that endo came back a lot faster for me after each surgery. I read somewhere that the reason is that oxygen they pump into you for surgery is what causes quicker growth. Who knows.

I am so sorry that your appointment did not bring good news. I will be praying that you and your hubby will feel at peace with the decision that you come too. That is so important to feel at peace and to feel that the Lord is guiding you. Your in my thoughts Kelly.
