Show Us Your Life: What is your typical day like?

A typical day in my life runs like this:

~ alarm goes off at 6 am, hit snooze once
~ shower and get ready
~ leave house at 7 am
~ drink Slimfast on the way to work
~ school starts at 8, teach 2 classes, planning period at 11:15 till 1:30, then teach one more class
~ softball practice from 3:15 to 5:30 or 6; or a game depending on the day
~ grab dinner on the way home; I rarely cook during softball season
~ finally get home for the day
~ wash a load of clothes and take a hot bath (I look forward to this part all day)
~ check facebook, watch a little tv, or read
~ kiss Hubs goodnight and hope that I'm in bed by 11 pm

During the months of February through June this is my life everyday. August through November is the same way except the sport has changed from softball to volleyball. I love coaching though so I don't mind all the time it takes. I also have a wonderful husband that supports me in everything I do and has never complained about my long hours away. In fact the first year we were married I coached volleyball, basketball, and softball and he jokes that we got through our first year of marriage so well because we never saw each other. Add in football, basketball, and baseball games and we are never home. But it works for us.

In the summer months my daily schedule differs a lot. Here is what a summer day would look like for me:

~ get up at 9am (or later)
~ shower, pull hair into a ponytail
~ gym
~ put on bathing suit, grab a book, and lay out at the pool
~ possibly have an open gym for volleyball
~ dinner
~ spend some time with Hubs
~ tv and bed

Oh my goodness! Have you read the latest entry in Melissa's blog: http://staffordmoments.blogspot.com/

Melissa's father-in-law died yesterday but Melissa couldn't be bothered to travel with her husband Chad to be with his father, even though they knew he was going to die this week.

Worse than not being bothered to see her father-in-law, Melissa has been blogging about going shopping, going to lunch with her girlfriends, going to the gym, etc. rather than being at her husband's side.

Melissa says she can't travel a few hours by car to visit her dying father in law because she is pregnant. What the heck? How can you NOT travel to see your dying father-in-law but you can go to the gym?? go shopping?? and go out to lunch??

Now Melissa says she can't even be bothered to go to the poor man's funeral. Too busy going to the gym, I guess?

How many of you girls out there would not go and visit your father-in-law if you knew he only had a few days left on this earth? How many of you would leave your husband alone to watch his father die? How many of you would rather go shopping and go to the gym than go to your father-in-law's funeral?

I am just astonished at how cold, un-Godly and cruel this woman is. Incredible.

I love that your a coach too! In high school I always love my coaches who were teachers - I'd go hang out with them during their prep-period or use their classroom as my before-school study time :)

I've been following your blog for a while and enjoy reading. Gosh you stay busy! I thought I was busy until I was reading your schedule. It makes you really appreciate the nights when you can come home right after work and don't have any plans for the evening. Those evenings are few and far between for us but when they happen it is so great!

I wish I had the discipline to only hit my snooze button once! I love my sleep! :) And do you drink the pre-mixed Slim Fast or do you make the Slimfast yourself? I have tried Slimfast before but I am always starving a couple hours later.
