Beach Reading List

You all know that I love to read! It is my favorite thing to do anytime of the year but especially in the summer. Laying out by the pool or sitting at the ocean is always so much better with a good book. I have brought plenty of books with me on vacation and have decided to share my reading list with you.

1- My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult

I want to read the book before I go see the movie.

2. Prep by Curtis Sittenfeld

3. The Man of My Dreams by Curtis Sittenfeld

4. The Secret Life of Bryan by Lori Foster

5. Immediate Family by Eileen Goudge

I have some others that I am taking just in case I get through with these. I know that I will be super busy in Charleston though so I'm not sure how much reading I will get done there. Leave me some comments if you have read any of these and let me know what you think.

Charleston, Here We Come!

We are on our way to Charleston!

Jeff and Kirsten are getting married in 4 days. Mom, Kirsten, Anna (the maid of honor), and myself are headed to Charleston this morning. We have plans to relax and finish some last minute wedding details. I am looking forward to lots of good food, manicures and pedicures, and some girl time before everyone starts showing up for the Big Day.

Charleston; here we come!

Lady's Night

Saturday night we got the girls together and went out for Kirsten's second bachelorette party. (I had to miss the first one that was in Atlanta because of a wedding). To start the night off we met for dinner and a lingerie shower at RJ Gators. Then we went back to Erin's house where we were picked up and taken to Coyote Joes. The bar/club that we went to was empty because the night before had been their big drink special night. We still had a lot of fun though. This post contains a lot of picture and they are not in order of the night.

Happy Father's Day!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!
I am such a daddy's girl. Growing up he was always my coach so we spent a lot of time together. We now teach and coach at the same school. I love getting to see him (and of course my mom) anytime that I want. I love you daddy!

Bad Blogger

I have been such a horrible blogger. I know that I said once school got out for the summer that I would have plenty of time to blog. I lied. I have been so busy this week. I mean laying by the pool and shopping can really wear a girl out. While I actually have been doing a lot of those 2 things this week, especially the laying out by the pool; I have also been doing "real" things too. On Tuesday and Wednesday I went with a group of students from our school to visit 2 different colleges. I have also been working out a lot. I have a goal to lose 15 lbs before school starts back so I am wanting to work on that all summer. Plus I know it will be harder to do over the next 2 weeks while I'm on vacation. Speaking of vacation... my brothers wedding is next Saturday. (I will be doing posts about this before I leave). They have been engaged for over 2 years so it is hard to believe that the wedding day is right around the corner.

Well gotta run... the pool is calling. Only 8 days left to work on my tan.

All Dressed Up

We had a wonderful anniversary yesterday. I met Hubs after work and we hit up the McDonald's drive-thru (cause we're classy like that) and then headed to downtown to see Phantom of the Opera.

Here we are all dressed up before we left.
The show was nice. I had a great time but it wasn't something that I would chose to do again. I am much more of a hot dog and ball game girl then an artsy person. Not that there is anything wrong with either; but to each his own. It was nice to do something different then our normal routine though.

Happy Anniversary

Today Hub's and I are celebrating our 3rd wedding anniversary. It is so hard to believe that it has been 3 amazing years already. I love him more each day. I cant imagine not having him in my life. I am going to love growing old with you sweetie. You are a wonderful husband and I know that someday you will be a great father. You have been my best friend for the past 7 years. We have had some tough times but marriage is about growing together and we have truly done that. The struggles that we are facing now will only continue to make our bond as husband and wife stronger.

We will be celebrating tonight with tickets to Phantom of the Opera (that Hubs surprised me with last week). Here is a picture of the theater:

I am so excited that I can't stand it. I have been wanting to see this for so long and I cannot believe that Hubs got us tickets. Isn't the theater beautiful?

Budget Cuts

The county that I teach in has decided not to renew the contracts of every teacher that has not been tenured or been teaching for less than 4 years. This includes me. And 646 other teachers. My principal has told me that I don't need to worry about it and that he will do all that he can to keep my position. I am praying that I get to stay in the school and classroom that I am in now. There are 15 other teachers in my school that are not getting their contracts renewed. In a school that only has 38 teachers total. There is no way that we would operate with 22 teachers. Please keep this situation in your prayers if you think about it. I am praying that I will be kept or put in the position that God wants me in. I love my students and cannot imagine leaving them. Also, please pray for my best friend and 2 of my really good friends, they are all on this list too.

Out of Hiding

I want to further explain about my short break from blogging recently. The blogging world was not the only thing in my life that I was not keeping up with. I was also trying to hide from God. and I mean really trying to hide. I was letting some other things take over in my life. Not addictions or anything but just temptations. And the sad thing is that I could see them then for what they were. It really showed me how fragile my faith is. I couldn't sleep or spend quality time with anyone that I cared about. I was scared to blog in fear that ya'll might see how weak I was.

Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you. Psalm 25:4-5

I have prayed that God will make me strong in His word. That He will forgive me for turning my back on Him at a time when I should have been turning towards Him.

Since Jesus himself has gone through suffering and testing, he is able to help us when we are being tested. Hebrews 2:18

Have you met Ted?

I had never watched any of How I met Your Mother until Hubs got me the first season in my Easter basket. We have started watching some of the episodes and they are hilarious. Anyone else a fan of this show?

April Shower's bring May Shower's

On Saturday night we hosted an Outdoor/Couples shower for Jeff and Kirsten. We grilled out and just had a lot of fun playing corn hole and hanging out.

Nolan and Hubs playing some ASU cornhole. My dad made those boards for Hub's for Christmas.
The guest's of honor. Jeff and Kirsten with the delicious strawberry cake that my mom made. It matches Kirsten's dress perfectly.

May Wedding

I am finally getting around to posting the pictures from our friends wedding last weekend. We had a wonderful time getting to catch up with college buddies that we haven't seen in a few years. The wedding was beautiful and the reception was a lot of fun.

Here is the lovely bride and groom

Hubs and I on the way to the wedding

Posing for some pictures before heading to the wedding

Once again

BTW, this is the dress that I bought for the rehearsal dinner that I never could find a picture of online. I thought that I was going to have trouble finding shoes to wear with it but I borrowed these from my best friend. She then found me a great pair of ruffled Steve Madden sandals the same color and bought them for me.
