Infertility Update

I just wanted to give you all a quick update since I haven't really talked about TTC lately. Yesterday I had my yearly exam and we discussed our next step in trying to start a family. It has now been a year since we started TTC. My dr. thinks that we should see a RE since she really can't do anything else for us. I have been on Femara since November and she just doesn't see the point in continuing to take it. She also said that she thinks that my endometerosis may still be an issue. I am hoping to hear back from the RE today to set up my first appointment. I will continue to update once we hear anything else.

Weekend Review

There is no weigh in today due to the fact that our scale decided to take a vacation. The batteries are dead so it may be a few days before I weigh in for this week. Hopefully Hubs will bring some home today. Also, the final weigh in for The Biggest Loser challenge at work is this Thursday. I plan on staying on point every day and working out as many days as I can. Today I have a dr.s appointment so I can't eat after 9:30am which is when I usually have my morning snack.

Friday after school I had an eye dr. appointment. After that we met my parents and brother and future sister-in-law for dinner and then went back to our house to watch the NCAA basketball games.
Sat. morning we met the in-laws for breakfast and then headed up the mountain for our nephews 3rd birthday party. Eli had a John Deere themed party and he was just the cutest thing.

Hubs and I with the birthday boy.

Our niece Lanie.

Hubs and Eli

Sunday we went to church and watched basketball the rest of the day. We are also trying to finish up the 3rd season of The Office. I have asked for the 4th season to be put in my Easter basket.
Our church's huge Easter drama starts tonight with the dress rehearsal. Hubs is in it. They do 10 different performances now through Easter so the next 2 weeks we will be busy every night. I have 3 softball games this week; including one today.

My best friend

Let me introduce you to my best friend....

We have a date today. And tomorrow.

Etiquette, ever heard of it?

I know that I have mentioned this before on my blog (when we got the Save the Date card) but since we got the actual wedding invitation in the mail this week it deserves to be discussed again.

We received a wedding invitation from one of his college fraternity brothers that is getting married in May. The invitation was addressed to my husband only. (okay not sure but I think that I live there too). It gets worse. The inside envelope says "Mr. Hubs and Guest". Yes, you read that correctly. Now given the fact that we have not really kept in touch with this guy and have never met the girl since they didn't met until we had graduated from college. And I am sure that she did the invitations and wouldn't know us from Joseph and Mary. But still, this guy was at our wedding 3 years ago and I even knew him before I met my husband. Plus his fiance has the same name as me. Now I am big on etiquette and this has just gotten under my skin. I guess that I am just going to have to get over it though.

If you are wondering we are planning on attending the wedding. It is being held in the town that Hubs is from so we will be visiting his parents for the weekend. Also it will be a great chance to see some of our college friends that we haven't seen in a while. Hubs did make me feel better when he said that we would address the gift to "Mr. Friend and Guest".

Prayer Request

I have a prayer request that I wanted to share. My cousin who is 36 with 4 children (the oldest being 17 and the youngest 13) has been diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time. She was diagnosed the first time at the age of 30. The first time she had both breasts removed and underwent chemo. The next year she had reconstructive surgery. Last week she found another lump in her breast. She is having surgery and has told them to remove both implants and leave them out. She will then go through radiation and hopefully not have to do chemo this time. Please keep her and her family in your prayers.

I also wanted to share my new favorite treat with you. If your following WW or just cutting back these handy treats are great with only 90 calories.

Special Edition: Thankful Tuesday

Today I wanted to make the Thankful Tuesday a little more special than a normal week. I have felt God's goodness so much these past few weeks and I wanted to devote this post to praises for Him. I know that I don't praise God enough in my daily life and I am working on changing that. I feel like I spend so much time waiting for tomorrow and future blessings that I overlook the blessing of today. Here's to praising God for His gracious love:

1- I praise God for blessing me with an amazing family. My parents have been married for 35 years. They still love each other as much today and they did then. I have a brother that is one of my best friends. I praise God for keeping our family so close. We all live within 20 minutes of each other and get together at least once a week.

2- I praise God for the wonderful man that He has given me. Hubs and I have been married for 3 years and each day my love and admiration grows tenfold for him.

3- I praise God for a wonderful job that I love coming to. I cannot imagine doing anything other than teaching.

4- I praise God for the trials that He has laid in my path. As much as I long for a child I know that this is my journey. And that one day it will make me a better parent and has already made me a better person.

5- I praise God for wonderful friends. I can honestly say that I have the best friends in the world. They are amazing women that have made me better just by knowing them.

6- I praise God for all His financial blessings. I feel so blessed to be this young and have all that we do.

7- I praise God for my church family. I praise God for allowing us to grow in His love. Hubs and I have both grown in our faith so much recently and I pray that we continue to grow each day.

What do you praise God for?
Do you praise Him as much as you should?

Monday Morning Weigh-In and Weekend Update

I weighed this morning and had only gained 0.2 lbs. I did horrible with my eating at the end of the week and have not worked out since Tuesday due to not feeling well and having 4 softball games last week. Also, my monthly "friend" was visiting so hopefully some of that 0.2 lbs is water weight that I retained. There are only 2 weeks left in our Biggest Loser Challenge at work so I am going to make sure that I stay on points and work out this week. I still have not reached my 10% (now I am 0.4 lbs from it) but I know that I will next Monday. I am hoping to sneak in another 5 lbs lost before we have the final weigh in next Thursday.
Weekend Update
Friday night Hubs and I went to Red Lobster for a date night and then stopped by Buffalo Wild Wings and met up with some of our neighbors.
Saturday mom and I went with Kirsten to have her first bridal fitting done. She is so beautiful in her dress and I cannot wait until the Big Day. After that we decided to skip the baby shower and instead did some shopping. I ended up getting the skirt that I had showed ya'll earlier from Kohl's. I had to get a size smaller than what I had tried on last Saturday. After that we worked on rehearsal invitations and grilled steaks. We also watched Twilight Sat. night and Hubs even liked it. He hadn't read any of the books but I kept him updated while I was reading them so he knew what was going on. He didn't swoon over Jacob and Edward like me and Kirs did though.
Sunday we loaded up and headed to Columbia for the SC v. LSU baseball game. Unfortunately SC did not win but we still had a ton of fun (and got a lot of sun).

The new SC baseball stadium. Hubs wants our grass to look like that.

Daddy and Jeff enjoying the game.

Hubs and I. This is the only picture where I am taller than him.

Hubs and Jeff watching from the outfield.

Can you tell that we are already burning?

Hubs getting a tan. His pour knees where burnt.

Finally Friday

I have never been more excited for the end of the work week then I am right now. This week has been something else. We have had 4 softball games this week and have 4 more next week. Twice this week I haven't gotten home until after 8pm and last night I didn't get home until almost 10pm. Needless to say my house is a wreck. So here are my plans for this weekend:

Tonight
1- LAUNDRY- I couldn't even iron my pants this morning because I couldn't get in the laundry room.
2- clean the rest of my house
3-have some real food tonight and not something that takes less than 3 minutes to cook
4- cuddle with Hubs who I feel like I haven't spent anytime with all week (oh, wait I haven't)

Tomorrow
1- bridal fitting with Kirs
2 Baby shower luncheon
3- finishing rehearsal invitations
4- March Madness and grilling out steaks with the family
5- trying to find a copy of Twilight and watching it

Sunday
1- SC vs. LSU baseball game in Columbia... Go Gamecocks!

Summer Reading List

I am so ready for summer and there is nothing that I love more than sitting out by the pool or ocean (which is where I will be for over 2 weeks this summer) and reading a good book. So in honor of this I have already started my summer reading list and thought that I would share it with you guys.

I have heard so many good things about this book and am not why I haven't already read it. I think I will save it for summer though.

Has anyone ever read any of her books?

Heard that this one is a tear jerker. Not sure I want to be bawling at the beach.

I haven't read anything by this author yet either.

I have already bought the 1st book (actually a month ago) and haven't read it yet. I know that so many of you have read these and really liked them How do they compare to the Twilight series?

If you haven't ever read a book by Dixie Cash then you must go out and by one.
They are hilarious!
This is just a few of the books that have made my summer reading list.
I promise to share more with you later.
Also, please leave a comment with your favorite book of all time or a book that you think I should add to my list.

I won!!!

I just won a blog makeover from Faith at Walk with me by Faith. She gave one away in honor of her 1 year blogging anniversary and I am so excited to be the winner. Faith has just started designing blogs and the ones she has done are so cute! I can't wait to get a new blog look.

Weekend Goodies

I wanted to share with some of the goodies I got this weekend while shopping with my mom.
There are a ton of adorable spring and summer clothes out this year.

This dress is from Old Navy. I got it in a solid green though. This weekend all of their dresses were $15.00 and then I had an extra 15% off bringing the total to $13.00. I can't wait to wear this at the beach. It will also look really cute as a bathing suit cover up.

I got this shirt from JCPenney's. It was 40% off making it $19.99 and then I had a $10 off any purchase coupon making the total price of this shirt just $9.99.

I got this spring sweater at Kohl's for $18.99 plus an extra 15%. I thought that it would look really cute with khaki pants or Capri's.

I am torn about this skirt. I did not buy it this weekend but it goes with the sweater above that I did buy. With the sweater tucked in and the huge belt that is on the skirt showing it was a super cute outfit. I thought that it would make a great outfit for church and possibly even for Easter Sunday. Any suggestions, should I go back and get it?

Monday Morning Weigh In and Weekend Recap

At this morning's weigh in I had lost 3.4 lbs since last week. I was so excited to see a big number since I maintained last week. That brings my total weight loss to 21.8 lbs since starting Weight Watchers. And I had lost 7 lbs before I ever joined WW. So my actual total weight is 28 lbs but I am only counting from the Weight Watcher starting weight. I do believe that this has truly been a lifestyle change and not a diet. I am now only 1 lb or less from my 10% goal.

This weekend was wonderful. Hub's best friend came and stayed with us. We met him for dinner Friday night and had a great time. Saturday I went shopping with my mom (I will post about my great finds later) and then we grilled out steaks that night. We also watched Surprise Weddings on the WE channel; which could possibly be the worst show ever created. Sunday morning we went to Sunday school and church (we had the best worship service ever. I cried the entire time). Then we ate lunch with my parents and brother and future sister-in-law. After that we worked on rehearsal invitations and then watched Role Models (which is a pretty funny movie. The language was pretty bad but if you can look past that then it was funny).

Please pray for my brother. He has had a horrible ear ache this past week and finally went to Urgent Care yesterday and they told him that he had ruptured his ear drum. His ear has been bleeding and the pain has really been bothering him.

Dress for Less

Kelly, at Kelly's Korner is hosting a "Looks for Less" event. She wants everyone to post their fashion tips that don't put a dent in our pocketbooks.

Kohls is one of my favorite stores. They always have great sales and since I have a credit card from there (the only credit card that I have) they are send me scratch off coupons with the chance to get an extra 15, 20, or 30% off all items.

This dress is adorable for Spring and is only 29.99.

I am in love with this shirt. 27.99

Brown woven belt- $15.40.

Love the colors in this bracelet for only $8.40.

Another great place that I have recently found is Forever 21.

This sleeveless satin top is only $7.50. With black dress Capri's and some hot black heels this would be perfect for a night out. And the best thing is that it comes in 4 colors.

I love this top. And you can't beat a price tag of $12.50.

This bag has such a great message. $1.50. Yes, that is one dollar and 50 cents.

I wear a lot of skirts in the spring and summer and the colors in this one are great. $22.50

I plan on doing another Dress for Less post in the near future. So be sure to check back in.

I've got personality

Mallory over at The Laceys posted this personality quiz. I thought that I would play along. Go here if you want to see what it says about you.

Below are my results:

Your personality type:
Quiet, kind and conscientious. Can be depended on to follow through. Usually puts the needs of others above their own needs. Stable and practical, they value security and traditions. Well-developed sense of space and function. Rich inner world of observations about people. Extremely perceptive of other's feelings. Interested in serving others.

Careers that could fit you include:
Interior decorators, designers, nurses, administrators, managers, secretaries, child care/early childhood development, social work, counselors, paralegals, clergy, office managers, shopkeepers, bookkeepers, homemakers, gardeners, clerical supervisors, curators, family practice physicians, health service workers, librarians, medical technologists, typists.

Quiet... never been a word to describe me, but the rest of the stuff is pretty accurate. I do value security and traditions and love to observe others. I am a teacher so I guess that could fall into my careers that fit me.

Try it out and see how accurate your results are.

Thankful Tuesday

- This week I am extremely thankful for Aloe Vera. On Sunday I set outside and read almost an entire book and with the temperature hitting 80 degrees; lets just say that I now look like a lobster. Not to mention the pain that I am in. My shoulders are killing me. I even missed the gym yesterday because I can't move my arms. And of course all my students think it is hilarious.

My best friend right now.

- I just added a new list to my sidebar. It is a rundown of the weight that I have lost. I am glad that I put it on there because it made me happy to see how much total weight I have lost. It was also a great motivator since I didn't do well with eating last week. So, in honor of that I am thankful for the weight that I have lost so far.

- Lazy weekends. Which is what Hubs and I have coming up. A rarity in our lives. We are always so busy and with softball season here it seems like we never get to see each other during the week. That's why I am so happy that we don't have anything planned this weekend.

What are you thankful for this week?

Monday Morning Weigh In

I weighed in this morning and was slightly disappointed to see that I had not lost anything. I was greatly relieved to also see that I hadn't gained anything either. I did not do this well with food or exercise this week. The 2 snow days really messed up my water intake and exercise. On Monday night we met my family for Mexican food and since I hadn't had it in so long I didn't restrain myself very well. Tuesday I ate M&M's and I don't even really like them; it was just because they were there. Then Saturday night we had a Sunday School party and ordered pizza and bread sticks which I partook in. I only have 4 more pounds to lose to reach my 10% goal and am really hoping to do that within the next 2 weeks.

My love for Vera

I love Vera Bradley! They are the only bags that I will carry. Right before Christmas I asked you all to help me decide which of the new Spring patterns I should get. The winner was:
Cupcake Pink

This is the bowler bag. I had never had this style before but I love it! It is so big (my bags have to be big enough for all the "normal" purse stuff and a bottle of water + a book. And this one zips all the way down on each side. Plenty of pockets too.
I also got the Zip Around wallet. Vera has come out with a new wallet this season but I decided to stick with my tried and true version. This is the 3rd of 4th Sip Around wallet that I have had and they are great.

I just wanted to show ya'll how much I truly love Vera so I have decided to post pics of all the ones that are still in my closet. This does not take into account the 6 that I sold at a yard sale last August.
This was one of my favorites ever. I loved the colors in this pattern but unfortunately it has my initials from before I was married so I can't really carry it anymore.

Basic Black Microfiber Backpack. I got this one from the Vera Bradley Clearance sale in Charlotte 2 years ago. Total cost: $12.00. I grabbed a few for birthday gifts and had them embroidered. (Sorry about the sideways picture... not sure what happened there).

Brown Microfiber. Also from the clearance sale. $9.00 for this one. It is a little smaller than I normally carry though.

Favorite one of all time. This is a blue jean bucket tote. Clearance sale: $12.00. My mom had to fight for this one. I carry this one in the summer.

The was the last one I bought before my new Spring patterns. I have had several in this handbag style. It is the perfect size for all my "junk".

Ah, see its fall twin. I love the burgundy in this one.

Another clearance sale goodie. $6.00.
In case you haven't figured it out already the clearance sale was unbelievable. It was packed and you had to push and shove for stuff. (Luckily I am not above doing that) But the prices were crazy. I got $800 worth of retail for less than $80.00. I bought tons of gifts for people and still have several wallets and pajama shirts that I haven't given away yet. And Cheyenne, our beloved husky, got a lifetime of Vera Bradley dog collars and leashes. She was super excited.

Reading Rainbow

As you all know; I love to read!!!! There is nothing that I like better than a good book. (Well maybe laying out at the pool or ocean with a good book). Anyways, a couple of years ago I read Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin. I remember liking it and am not sure why I never picked up another book by her. Until I saw some other ladies blogging about her books. This week during our "Snow Days" I read Something Blue and Love the One Your With. Both of these were great! I have now borrowed Baby Proof from the library and plan on getting to it this weekend.
