What were they thinking?

While on vacation I read My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult. This was the first book of hers that I had read and I LOVED it! I plan on reading as many of her books as I can get my hands on. Anyways the book was great. I laughed and cried in the same sitting which we all know is a true sign of a really great book. Then I made the mistake of going to see the movie while I was on vacation. The movie was horrible after reading the book. I don't want to spoil it for anyone but the book and the movie are totally different. I was extremely disappointed in the movie. What surprised me was that it was done by the same people that did The Notebook; which is the only time I have enjoyed the movie version better than a book.

My sister-in-law was just telling me the same thing! I think I've decided I'm going to go with the book.

I LOVED the book too...now the movie made me cry like a crazy person...but it just wasn't as good as the book.

Okay...your next Jodi Picoult book NEEDS to me 19 Minutes. Being a school teacher, you will really appreciate it. My emotions were EVERYWHERE with this book...I felt sorry for the victims and for the boy in the story...you will REALLY like it. It's one of those that you will want to read the entire book in one sitting.

Enjoy the rest of your summer!

I went to see the movie with about 8 girlfriends and we went in the morning so we had the theater to ourselves. Some of the girls had read the book and just kept talking about how good it was. I was sitting there watching the movie and basically started crying in the first 10 minutes. I cried on and off for almost the entire movie. THAT is not fun to me!! At one point I stood up and said, "I am SO mad at you guys for making me come cry all morning!!!" We all got a big laugh. :)

I have to admit that it made me think. I bet I kissed my daughter 100 times that day and just really thought about how precious life is. Now I don't want to read the book because I don't want to be sad so seeing the movie first kind of ruins it for me!

That book is one of my faves, and I have avoided the movie because I heard that they changed it!!
